Danya Develops Communications Portal to Support U.S. Government’s Coordinated Global AIDS Relief Effort Danya Designs Robust Tool to Assist Eight U.S. Agencies Worldwide Fight HIV/AIDS Silver Spring, Maryland (July 1, 2006) – Danya International, Inc. (Danya), a health communications and technology firm delivering breakthrough solutions for public health and education, today announced completion of a comprehensive communications portal designed to support the work of eight U.S. Government agencies in the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS worldwide. This coordinated communications extranet is a vital component of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the largest international health initiative in history dedicated to a single disease. "We are honored to have been included in this historic initiative," said Jeff Hoffman, Ph.D., Danya President and CEO. "It is critical to such a large undertaking to employ the most sophisticated communications operations to ensure effective coordination and an efficient means of sharing resources. The comprehensive extranet that we have developed will serve as a strategic asset to support this global initiative." The customized portal, PEPFAR.NET, is a password-protected collaborative application built to increase communication effectiveness among disparate organizations. The home page is a "common" area accessible to everyone with authorized permission. Designated areas have been created for each individual government agency, as well as specially designed collaboration areas for project teams. Established as an online community for all government personnel across the globe working on PEPFAR, the extranet portal supports the information-sharing needs among agencies, countries, and workgroups. Danya will further support the PEPFAR initiative by providing technical and maintenance services for the extranet. In addition, Danya is providing the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention's (CDC) Global AIDS Program (GAP) with ongoing Web services for its
public and extranet sites. Danya is also assisting GAP with general communications
support, including messaging, editing technical documents, developing fact sheets,
collecting "Stories from the Field," maintaining mailing lists, and designing a
quarterly newsletter. About Danya International, Inc.
