Danya Chosen to Continue Serving HUD’S University Partnerships Clearinghouse Project to Improve Communities
Danya Supports HUD and Universities in Enhancing Community Development

SILVER SPRING, Maryland. (February 1, 2006) – Danya International, Inc. (Danya), a health communications and technology firm delivering breakthrough solutions for public health and education, has been tapped to continue its work on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of University Partnerships (OUP). The OUP manages grant programs aimed at teaming the best and brightest from higher education institutions with community development and social services organizations to develop effective uses for HUD grants.

“HUD has initiated a tremendous effort to bring together academia and local community leaders to brainstorm ways to enhance our neighborhoods,” said Jeff Hoffman, Ph.D., President and CEO. “It has been a great opportunity for Danya to be involved in building this major initiative, and we are excited to play a role in growing this project during the next 3 years. We are gratified that HUD was pleased with our work and signed us up to continue our efforts.”

The University Partnership Clearinghouse (UPC) project was first awarded to Danya as the result of a competitive procurement 3 years ago by HUD’s Office of University Partnerships. The Danya Team has primary responsibility for daily maintenance of the OUP Web site (www.oup.org) for HUD; redesigning OUP’s traveling exhibits and accompanying them to conferences; operating the call center helpline and providing technical assistance; developing newsletters, monographs, and other publications; representing the OUP at national, regional, and local conferences and technical meetings; developing various informational materials; and providing peer review support services for the competitive grant reviews. Since inception, nearly 3,000 grantees have participated in the UPC project. The more than $5 million multi-task contract will run through 2009.
