Danya Hosts Annual Clinical Preceptorship Program
Training Conference in San Diego, CA. (May 2–4, 2004)
SILVER SPRING, MD. (May 2, 2004) – On May 2–4, 2004, Danya will be conducting the Annual Clinical Preceptorship Program Training Conference in San Diego, CA. The conference, primarily a training conference for Danya's clinical preceptors, is a rich educational forum for those who provide clinical supervision to U.S. Navy and Marine Corps drug and alcohol counselors. The conference will include an audience of more than 40 preceptors and up to 100 representatives of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. We anticipate the sharing of experiences by preceptors, the mutual benefits of interfacing with Navy and Marine Corps personnel, and the provision of excellent training by a number of expert speakers.
This year's conference theme, "Models of Supervision: Blending Best Practices," is characteristic of our desire to provide services through best practice models that are innovative and current. We seek to seize the opportunity this training program offers to work toward our goal of innovation and ongoing process improvement of the valuable services delivered by preceptors. We view this annual forum as one stop on the path leading to this goal.
The keynote presentation this year will be given by David Powell, Ph.D., the originator of the Clinical Preceptorship Program. Dr. Powell will present on new trends in the field and their relevance to counselor improvement and clinical supervision.
