With funding from the National Institute of Mental Health, Danya conducted a preliminary evaluation of AutismVision, the first of the four video interventions within the ACC series. The goal was to determine whether after the intervention classmates would report 1) more knowledge about autism, and 2) more positive attitudes toward children with autism.

The results of this initial evaluation show that AutismVision is a powerful tool for educating and promoting positive attitudes toward children with autism. Classmates who received the intervention showed significantly more knowledge and more positive attitudes than their peers who did not receive the intervention. Parents and teachers reported that the information included in the intervention is beneficial to teachers and classmates of children with autism, and they would highly recommend it to other teachers and parents.
