Silver Spring, Maryland (October 27, 2011) –Danya International, Inc. (Danya), a communications, research, and technology firm, has been awarded the Corporate Social Responsibility Award by the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC). The award, sponsored by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Mid-Atlantic States, Inc., wase presented at MCCC’s annual Business Awards Dinner on October 26, 2011, at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center.

“Danya International is honored to receive the Chamber’s Corporate Social Responsibility Award,” said Danya’s CEO, Dr. Jeffrey Hoffman. “Danya’s story is that of a company doing well by doing good...Like everyone else here, we do try to give back to the community, both locally and globally, such as by supporting the Families Foremost Center, and Hearts and Homes for Youth here in Montgomery County, Bright Beginnings Inc. in DC, the Global Fund for Children’s programs in Africa, Save A Child’s Heart based in Israel, and many other organizations doing important charitable work; but we also try to consider the social implications of every key business decision that we make – and that’s not always easy.  Sometimes there are tough choices to make between what is best for business and what is best for society – and there is always some degree of business risk involved in these decisions – and we make our share of mistakes.  But more often than not, we try to err - in favor of society.”

According to the MCCC website, the award is “presented to an individual or company that has demonstrated exemplary business practices and dedicated involvement and unyielding commitment to community service and volunteer programs that enrich the lives of residents of Montgomery County.”
