Danya International, Inc.'s CEO, Dr. Jeffrey Hoffman, to Receive Award at Embassy of Kenya

Silver Spring, Maryland (December 3, 2009) – Danya International, Inc. (Danya), a communications, research, and technology firm, is proud to announce its CEO, Jeffrey Hoffman, PhD, will be one of two recipients of the Ambassador Princeton Lyman Global Leadership Award at the Embassy of Kenya on Thursday, December 3, 2009. Dr. Hoffman is being recognized for his tireless efforts in Kenya and Ethiopia. The event at which the award will be presented is hosted by Think Impact (formerly Student Movement for Real Change), a nonprofit organization that provides American college students and recent graduates with fellowship and internship opportunities in rural villages in Africa.

Dr. Hoffman has been involved with several initiatives in Africa, particularly the HIV and TB awareness campaign, as well as the mobile video-enabled phones pilot study, monitoring the administration of TB treatment. Danya also sponsored the 7th Biennial US-Africa Business Summit and hosted a virtual job fair for over 9,000 jobseekers in September. Along with Dr. Hoffman, Marina Kim, Director of Ashoka U, will be honored at the ceremony.

Think Impact was founded by Saul Garlick in 2001, a high school junior at the time. The organization has since expanded to include 40 college campuses across the country. Think Impact is endorsed by The Nelson Mandela Foundation.
