Silver Spring, Maryland (July 23, 2010) – Danya International, Inc. (Danya), a communications, research, and technology company, was recently awarded a contract to operate the Office of Head Start National Monitoring Support Expansion System.

All Head Start programs must, by law, be monitored at least once every 3 years. Danya, as the monitoring contractor, will be responsible for recruiting highly qualified, knowledgeable reviewers; scheduling and staffing all monitoring reviews; and producing the final monitoring reports that will be sent to each Head Start program.

The Head Start program began in 1965 to promote the school readiness of low-income children through the provision of comprehensive health, educational, nutritional, social, and other services to these children and their families. Since 1965, Head Start has served more than 26 million children and their families.
