Silver Spring, Maryland (August 24, 2011) –Danya International, Inc., a communications, research, and technology firm, has been awarded a 1-year Task Order by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Capacity Building Branch (CBB) of the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention (DHAP). This Task Order is under the contract vehicle for Technical Support to CDC, its Grantees, and Other Partners in the Delivery of HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, Sexually Transmitted Disease, and Tuberculosis Prevention Programs. Danya will provide a series of interrelated technical, strategic planning, training coordination, and logistical support services, integrated with other project management and strategic program coordination activities, to support the Diffusion of Effective Behavioral Interventions (DEBI) project and the CBB Branch.

The DEBI project provides high-quality training and ongoing technical assistance on selected evidence-based HIV/STD/ Viral Hepatitis prevention interventions to state and community HIV/STD program staff. Danya will maintain the Web site, www.effectiveinterventions.org, a capacity-building Web site that provides resources and tools for DEBI interventions, public health strategies, and, coming soon, biomedical and structural interventions. The project began in 1999 when CDC published a Compendium of HIV Prevention Interventions with Evidence of Effectiveness as a response to prevention service providers who requested evidence-based interventions that work.
