Silver Spring, Maryland (December 29, 2011) – Danya International, Inc. (Danya), a communications, research, and technology firm, has been selected to continue its support of the Department of the Navy’s Clinical Preceptorship Program (CPP).

This 5-year project provides clinical supervision and on-the-job training to the alcohol and drug abuse counselors at Navy bases worldwide. Danya, who has held this contract for the past 8 years, brings extensive experience in providing Navy counselors substance abuse treatment support services across more than 50 sites worldwide, establishing fluid operating procedures that include all transaction processes; preceptor recruitment; quality assurance; invoicing; program evaluation; and reporting. In addition, Danya provides coverage to aircraft carriers and has processes for remote supervision using Internet venues.

Danya also provides training and technical assistance to preceptors at the annual CPP Conference, through web postings on the Clinical Preceptors website, updates to electronic programs, and regional training. These resources have proven to be pivotal when preceptors administer clinical supervision of Navy counselors using methods that include direct observation, case review, and group and individual supervision. Drawing from its rich training background and expertise in substance abuse training, Danya administers 600 hours of didactic training to more than 200 counselors each year. Training subjects include counseling competency core functions, ethics, PTSD, co-occurring disorders, cultural competency, gender issues, motivational interviewing, theories of change, counselor competency, and current research.
